Remedy for Gynecomastia or “Man Boobs”

During puberty, about 65% of 14-year-old male develops the so called “man boobs” or gynecomastia. 90 % of them will luckily experience regression or complete disappearance of such breasts leaving the 10% still burdened burdened with a social handicap that causes a deep and complex shame, and puts one’s relationship with one’s body at risk.

Gynecomastia is primarily caused by hormonal disturbance in a man’s body. In addition to this, large breasts may also appear due to diet and exercise problems. One’s lifestyle can affect not only how much fat but also where such fats accumulates in your body. This problem leaves many men uncomfortable and unwilling to take their shirst off. Certain drugs or steroids may also trigger such dilemma due to the imbalance in sex hormones like estrogen and testosterone.

The good news, however, is that gynecomastia can easily be corrected. There are various ways on how to get rid of those excess fats. One is through proper chest fat burner exercises and proper diet. Another is through available supplements such as Gynemax and Gynexin. Such treatment however, would take a couple of months or years depending on many factors.
So for those who are looking for a fast and most effective way to get rid of these “man boobs”, the only cure is to do a liposuction. Depending on the severity of the problem, either a straight liposuction or a liposuction in conjunction with minimal skin cutting may be the answer.

This liposuction procedure is very simple; outpatient procedure that may only take a few hours then you can actually go home. Like any other surgery, you will feel sore for a few days after the gynecomastia surgery and your cosmetic surgeon might recommend that you take a few days off from work. Swelling and bruising subsides within a few weeks and the chest area will look smaller and smoother.

When this surgery involves the cutting of the skin, as in a male breast reduction, very similar to a woman’s breast reduction, the recovery time may be a bit longer, but is still minimally invasive and has a quick recovery period.

If you or someone you know is struggling with this problem, then the next step would be to set up a consultation with a qualified plastic surgeon that specializes in liposuction of the chest specifically the one who had an experienced in men’s.

How Botox Reduces Wrinkles

You might have been looking in the mirror this morning and noticed more fine lines and creases around your eyes. You have probably sighed and add it up to your aging process. While it is true that there’s nothing in this world that can stop aging, it is still good to consider that there is something you can do to even look younger rather those frown lines to just ruin your precious space.

The non-surgical wrinkle reducer Botox Cosmetic now lets you graciously decline invading wrinkles. This treatment for the temporary reduction of wrinkles has been approved by the Federal Food and Drug Administration or FDA since the year 2002. Botox is an extremely popular cosmetic treatment where in almost one million people have tried it and benefited on its face smoothing benefits.

Before we tackle how Botox works, you need to understand how you develop those infuriating frown lines. As years go by, your skin loses its natural softness and fails to bounce back from the movement and stretching that takes place as your facial muscles continually flex and release. This in turn, creates fine lines that form on your face as early as your late 20s or early 30s.

So how does Botox works?

Botox is a trade name for Botulinum toxic A, one of the neurotoxins produced by Clostridium botulinum. Basically, this botulinum toxin blocks the signals that would normally tell your muscles to contract.

Now, you might be wondering why anyone on earth would want such botulinum toxins injected into his or her face. The answer is very simple – If an area of the body can’t move, it can’t wrinkle. When small amounts of this protein are injected into muscle tissue, the nerve impulses to the muscles are blocked and paralyze the muscle. Without the continual movement of muscles on your skin, the skin has a great chance of returning to its smoother state.

The results of Botox treatment can usually be seen a few days after the procedure and continues to improve on its first month. This effect of this wrinkle reduction process can be visible for up to four months before the protein is cleansed from the body and so does the effect fades.

Though Botox had been performed in many countries for millions of times, the FDA still warns the people for the following hazards following the injection of Botox. Always be careful in finding a qualified physician or cosmetic surgeon to administer the said treatment. There are a lot of cosmetic surgeon in the Philippines who are experienced and are licensed to perform such procedure so make sure to find one so that you can maximize the benefits of this Botox wrinkle reduction treatment.

Plastic surgery, with its possible risk and complications, is one subject that most people look up to so seriously. But no matter how complex plastic surgery is, it is still interesting to go through some fun and amusing facts about cosmetic surgery way back hundreds of years up to the present time.

• In early Renaissance, many plastic surgeries were done in barber shops.

• In Nazi Germany, some forms of reconstructive surgery were mandated to enable the “too ugly” solder to become a “real” soldier. Benito Mussolini’s (1880-1945) Italy also used plastic surgery to increase the performance of military officers, such as correcting drooping or baggy eyelids.

• Cindy Jackson, born in Ohio United States was listed in the Guinness World record book for having had more cosmetic surgery procedures than anyone else in the world. Her record? Fifty of them to be exact with a price tag of $100,000.

• American people spent $13.2 billion on plastic surgery in 2006.

• Two-thirds of plastic surgery patients are repeat patients, and more than five million Americans may be addicted to plastic surgery. One example of such addiction, 48-year-old Hang Mioku was left disfigured after she injected her own face with cooking oil.

• It was the World War II that ushered in plastic surgery techniques that included rebuilding entire limbs, extensive skin grafts, microsurgery, antibodies, and increased knowledge about tissue health.

• When plastic surgery became popular during the Renaissance, plastic surgeons took skin grafts from various donors, such as a neighbor’s pig, but were confused when the new nose would shrivel up and fall off. They concluded the flesh was “sympathetic,” meaning that the graft died when its original owner died.

• The first recorded “nose job” is found in ancient Indian Sanskrit texts (600 B.C.). Physicians would reconstruct noses by cutting skin from either the cheek or forehead, twisting the skin side out over a leaf of the appropriate size, and sewing the skin into place. Two polished wooden tubes would be inserted into the nostrils to keep the air passage open during healing.

• Though cosmetic surgery is commonly used by adults and older people, there were still 2% of all plastic surgery patients who were teenagers age 13-19.

Breast augmentation is still the top cosmetic surgery procedure followed by liposuction.

• Plastic surgery in men increased 17% compared to the percentage in the year 2006 and is expected to increase more in the years to come.

Plastic Surgery’s Firsts

Human beings, by nature, entail self-fulfillment. People have different ways of acquiring such fulfillment but one of the most common is none other than through self-improvement. Yes. You can deny it but the truth is, most people achieve self-fulfillment when people commends on how they look. Because of this, more and more people are now seeking help from plastic and cosmetic surgeons all over the world. Unlike in the past decades where patients used to deny they had nose lift or tummy tuck, people who undergone surgery today could face the world with much confidence. Plastic surgery indeed become a part of many people may it be for reconstruction or cosmetic reasons. As such, it could be nice to go back to its history and let us know some of the firsts when it comes to cosmetic surgery.

Written evidence shows that the first medical treatment for facial injuries was done 4, 000 years ago. Physicians in ancient India were utilizing skin grafts for reconstructive work as early as 800 B.C. by Sushruta, the Father of Indian Surgery and Charak.

Dr. John Peter Mettauer, was known as the first American plastic surgeon who was born in Virginia in 1787. The bright Dr. Mettauer performed the first cleft palate operation in the New World in 1827 with instruments he designed himself.

It was Walter Yeo, a British soldier, who is often cited as the first known person to have benefited from plastic surgery. The photograph above shows him before the procedure (left) and after (right) receiving a skin graft performed by Sir Harold Gillies in 1917. However, many studies shows patients who undergone cosmetic surgery even before Yeo.

The first closed or intranasal rhinoplasty (nose lift) on the other hand were credited to the modern rhinoplasty surgeons include Johann Dieffenbach and Jacques Joseph, who used external incisions for nose reduction surgery John Orlando Roe on 1887.

In liposuction, the first people who have invented such procedure were Doctors Giorgio and Arpad Fischer, two Italian surgeons working in Rome. Relatively modern techniques for body contouring and removal of fat were first performed by a French surgeon, Charles Dujarier. However, the tragic case of Dujarier’s performance in 1926 caused the set-back in body contouring for many years.
After nose lift and liposuction, number of surgical procedures arose in different parts of the globe such as buttocks, butt lift, dimple creations surgery, eye bag removal surgery, otoplasty, breast surgeries and many more.

Plastic surgery is the easiest way to become more beautiful. Through plastic surgery most of the skin problem diseases are cured. Even old ones are also using surgeries to make them look younger than they really are. Some people might be against this idea but for people who have tried and was able to get back their self esteem, such procedure is really a way to go.

The Evolution of Liposuction

When liposuction was introduced, it became so popular but was confronting negative publicity due to patients experiencing excessive bleeding and undesirable rippling of the skin after surgery. But dermatologists all around the world did not stop developing liposuction techniques to lessen such negative effects.

Liposuction had become so popular that it drastically increased the interest in developing methods for non-invasive fat reduction. There were already various technologies that appear to offer hype than hope and some new entries are really showing great potential.

In 1985, a dermatologist named Dr. Jeffrey Klein invented the tumescent technique for liposuction which allowed patients to have liposuction performed totally by local anesthesia using much smaller cannulas. This invention tumescent technique then revolutionized liposuction surgery.

The new age lipolysis, also known as laser lipo, is another breakthrough in the history of liposuction. This technique makes use of laser to remove fat. Local anesthesia is administered prior to the treatment for this minimally invasive procedure. The results thus obtained in this procedure are better, faster and the least painful when compared to that of traditional liposuction. This also minimizes blood loss, prevents trauma and has a failing rate of less than 1%.

Together with the evolution of liposuction techniques, the incisions related to each had also evolved from being over an inch long to often barely an eight of an inch. Some procedures such as laser-assisted liposuction do not even have the need for incisions.

Even the location of incisions has also evolved. Plastic surgeons have learned to place the incisions in an area where it can become inconspicuous as possible after they heal. However, not all surgeons will place it inconspicuously so make sure to talk about it with your cosmetic surgeon.

Liposuction has indeed evolved in so many ways. Various techniques used for surgery now produced amazing results which helped a lot of people to gain more confidence about how they look. Patients could now have liposuction surgery without the fear of excessive bleeding and undesirable skin depressions.

Be Careful with Bargain Breasts and Botox

In California, there are billboards advertising bargain boob jobs such as “buy one implant get one free” while other says “$8 Botox injections. Obviously, these ads are just a part of clever marketing campaigns that more often than not, leads to horror stories.

In the country, there are also surgeons which offer big discounts for various types of surgery. Some may even offer the same “buy one take one promo” to get more attention. There is really nothing wrong with promo packages as long as the standard procedures of surgical procedures will be done and most especially, done by a certified cosmetic surgeon.

More and more women nowadays are getting interested into having bigger boobs through breast augmentation and younger looking skin through the well-known botox. The increase in the number of patients also leads to higher competition among cosmetic and plastic surgeon of all levels. However, if you are planning to have a surgery soon, be careful not to be a victim of bargain breasts and botox.

Some studies show that most of these ads come from people who do not have any privileges to conduct plastic surgeries because they simply are not surgeons and never trained as surgeons. As such, they could offer a much lower price for they can go through the procedure without using anesthesia and other stuff necessary for the operation. This can lead to serious problems and worse, death.

So how does one know if a cosmetic surgeon is offers genuine and secured surgical services?

Get at least a couple of opinions and do a thorough research about your desired surgeon. Look for his/her background especially the depth of experiences. Internet could also help a lot since most people establish their services on the net. You can find their educational and working experiences there and sometimes you can also find out if they are board-certified or not. Testimonials of previous clients could also help you decide as more positive remarks means that your surgeon does plastic surgery really well.

You can also ask for the before and after photos of the doctor’s work for the particular procedure you want. Don’t settle for fancy pamphlets; you want to make sure there’s evidence of good work from the doctor you’re seeing. If no before-and-afters are available, that’s your red flag that it’s time to walk.

Facelift for Men

Yes. Not only women undergo facelift surgery and facelift for men could be more popular than you think.

Over the past ten years facelift surgery had become more and more popular to male patients. The reasons behind this lies in the idea that men would want to remain competitive in their workplace. They also want to look healthier and feel more confident in their personal relationships.

Facelift procedures designed for men can e a very effective way to minimize unnecessary effects of aging, stress and too much exposure to sun such as wrinkles and dry skin. Though the results o facelift to both men and women are similar, there are differences in approach that potential patients should be aware of.

Some considerations include the fact that men do not often have the option of concealing scars under the hair. As such, the incisions made during facelift for men must be placed inconspicuously. Incisions are made generally in the natural crease of the sideburn, inside the ear or around the earlobe, under the chin or back into the hairline. All incisions should be made invisible as much as possible.

Men also have more blood vessels in their face than female patients, which is another factor to be considered. Having more blood vessels in the face may mean that a male patient’s blood will take longer to clot before and after the facelift procedure. For this reason it is important for male patients to follow all surgical aftercare instructions to avoid the possibility of complications.

Surgical procedures are not without its risk and facelift for men does carry the same principle. Although side effects are rare and can e mitigated through an experienced cosmetic surgeon, a patient should still be prepared and well-informed on all the aspects of the surgical procedures. A patient is expected not to work for a few weeks for the recovery phase. Some activities should also be avoided such as exercising, smoking, the use of certain medications that may slow down the healing process and even sexual and other strenuous activities.

Why Face lift Surgery?

Stress and worry are another great factor that adds to the acquisition of wrinkles. These lines portray tiredness and make you look older than you really are. These creases usually form between eyebrows and between the nose and mouth. Even laughter lines around the eyes can become too deep to comfort. Moreover, fat redistributes itself under the skin of the jawline and the neck, with the skin sagging resulting in a loose, jowly jaw, and a loose neck.

As people grow older, the muscles of the face become weaker and slacker and its elasticity also lowers down. This results to the formation of wrinkles which is inevitable but the prevalence depends on different factors. Genetics could play a ig role but there are also environmental factors such as too much exposure to sunlight, smoking, gaining and losing too much weight or pollution.

Seeing those lines and tired-looking face when you look at the mirror makes you feel unhappy and worse, depressed. This is why many people decide on having facelift surgery. People usually undergo facelift at the age of forty to sixty, though there are also people in their eighties who have this kind of operation. The result of facelift can last for about ten years if the patient is careful enough to avoid excessive exposure to the sun, weight loss and smoking after the operation.

Facelift can also be performed on specific parts of the face such as the brow area, lower face or neck. However, full facelift is available to renew the whole face completely. Further procedures such as eyelid surgery can also be done at the same time to reduce droopy eyelids or the eye bags underneath the eyes.
For people who do not prefer to go under facelift, they could other alternatives such as laser facial resurfacing, tissue augmentation, anti-wrinkle injections and chemical peels. But before you decide which treatment best suits you needs, consult your cosmetic surgeon and ask for various facelift surgery information specific fo you facial situation.

Ways to Achieve that Perfect Nose

Not all people have the perfect nose. Therefore, millions of people around the globe dream of having a perfect one. Good thing is that there are several ways on how you can enhance your nose. Some people prefer to enhance their nose without going under cosmetic surgery by simply using cosmetics. Make-ups can do wonders to your nose but you have to know the specific tricks for the best outcome. There are two things that you need – a bronzer or a matte eye shadow powder that is a shade darker than your foundation, a highlighter that is in a lighter shade than your foundation.

If your problem is that you have a big nose, apply the bronzer or the dark eye shadow powder on the sides of your nose, blending it well. This would make the sides of your nose thinner. Then blend the highlighter along the length of your nose bridge to give the illusion of an augmented bridge, enhancing the overall look of your nose.

If you have a rather long nose and want to shorten it, blend some dark eye shadow on the area just a little below the tip of your nose, and then dot and blend the highlighter on the tip.

Lastly, if you have a protruding nose all you have to do is to start by highlighting your cheeks with the highlighter, then proceed with wiping just a bit of the dark eye shadow powder on the top sides of your nose. Don’t shade the entire length of your nose with the same dark eye shadow as it will only defeat your purpose. Use instead, the highlighter to shade the remaining portion of the sides of your nose. Shade the area below the tip of your nose with the darker eye shadow to make it look shorter and then very lightly apply the highlighter on the tip of your nose.

Make-ups can indeed help you enhance the looks of your nose. However, the downsides are, it only lasts for a few hours and would require a lot of refreshment from time to time. So if you want to have that perfect nose permanently, nose lift surgery or rhinoplasty is the one for you. This surgical procedure has been practiced through years which lower down the risk especially if done by a qualified and experienced cosmetic surgeon. Definitely, this procedure costs more than using make-ups but the thing is, you do not have to apply anything on your face before you go out of the house. It also looks natural after few months making you feel like you were really born with such a perfect nose.

The Rise of Cosmetic Surgery

Cosmetic surgery has undergone a long story that continues to evolve up to this day. Some techniques where first developed by plastic surgeons in order to repair facial deformities caused by World War II. The massive war of the 20th century resulted in many deformities which greatly accelerated the advancement of plastic surgery and quickly became the starting point for cosmetic surgery.

Cosmetic surgery has now becoming a lifestyle. In many parts of the globe, the rate of cosmetic surgery procedures being performed continues to rise. In a recent survey by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery or AACS, it came out the most famous cosmetic surgery procedures are eyelid surgery, tummy tuck and rhinoplasty or nose surgery which had significant increase in the last five years.

Together with other doctors in AACS, most surgeons have also seen an invasion in patients. Due to the various surgical and non-surgical procedures available, more and more people are looking for the best surgeon who can perform their chosen procedures with care and proper precision. By combining a surgical procedure with a non-invasive treatment, patients have the ability to fulfil their desired goal in just one setting.

And now, statistics shows how cosmetic surgery has invaded the new era. According to American Society of plastic Surgeons, there were a total of 347,524 breast augmentation procedures performed in 2007. This alone, represents 64% increase over the number of procedures performed in the year 2000. The second most commonly performed procedure was liposuction with 301,882, followed by nose reshaping (rhinoplasty) at 284,960, eyelid surgery at 240,660, and tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) at 148,410.

Some people believe that the continuing increase in cosmetic surgery procedures has been in part to the limitless amount of plastic surgery information available on the Internet.
